Synopsis:

The Madhubani paintings of Sita Devi are a rare phenomenon in which a centuries-old, perfectly stylized folk art form, evolved for personal spaces and rituals, has transitioned from the contextual to the context-free space of universal art. SitaDevi, the artist, steeped in her own world of devotion and mythos, presents it to the world—an unaffected presentation of her inner experience. The film explores the simultaneous naivety and simplicity in her paintings by juxtaposing them with poetry and highlighting the rhythms through animation.
