Synopsis:

This film unfolds through a phone call with my 85-year-old aunt, who was only seven when she was forced to leave her home during the Partition. As she reminisces about her childhood and the life she left behind, her words become a thread that connects personal memory with the history of Phulkari, the intricate embroidery tradition of Punjab. Through her lived experiences, we explore how Phulkari, beyond being an art form is a living archive of collective memory as well where its motifs carry stories of migration, resilience, and longing. The film interweaves her recollections with the patterns and symbols found in Phulkari textiles.
